Joshua is a sweet 9-year-old boy who is a brain cancer survivor. Due to the cancer and his treatment, he suffers from epilepsy, needs a feeding tube to eat, and is also wheelchair bound. Joshua’s home has multiple stairs and it has been increasingly difficult for his mother, Amika, to lift him in and out of his wheelchair to get him outside of his house. As he grows, it will only become more of a challenge for Amika.
We awarded Joshua a $7,000 grant for a wheelchair ramp in his home to help him in his daily life.We also awarded Joshua a $1,900 for an electric wheelchair. This will help Joshua gain more independence now that he will be able to move freely outside of his home on his own. We are so happy to help make a difference in Joshua’s life.
